Supporting Our Driver-Guides and Their Families

Happy guides make Happy guests

At Tours-UK, we take immense pride in the dedication, professionalism, and warmth of our tour driver-guides — they are the heart of every journey we deliver. Many of our extended tours can take our team members away from home for anywhere between 5 and 14 days, and on average, our driver-guides spend around nine months of the year travelling across the UK and Ireland to ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience.

Because of this, we believe strongly in supporting a healthy work-life balance. On occasion, you may notice that a driver-guide has a family member accompanying them on a longer tour — perhaps a partner joining for a few days or a child travelling during school holidays. This is not a common occurrence, but when it does happen, it’s because we recognise the importance of allowing our team to maintain meaningful connections with their loved ones while on the road.

We understand that touring work is a vocation that requires passion, commitment, and time away from home. Allowing family accompaniment from time to time helps ensure our driver-guides can continue to deliver the same high-quality service, enthusiasm, and energy that make our tours special.

We kindly ask our guests for understanding and support when these moments arise. It’s part of our belief that happy guides make happy guests — and that when our team feels valued, rested, and connected to their families, it enhances every aspect of your touring experience.

At Tours-UK, we’re not only dedicated to showcasing the beauty and history of Britain — we’re equally committed to caring for the people who make that experience possible.
